Why is it safe? VNCme is open-source, the code is available for review, and we don't collect any personal data. The warnings are purely because we're a new software publisher without Microsoft's expensive certificate.
There's no traditional installer—VNCme is a portable executable. Just download VNCme-Server.exe, place it in a folder of your choice, and run it from the command prompt. All configuration is done via command-line arguments or the included GUI (coming soon).
The trial period is 7 days from first launch. During the trial, you have full access to all features except password protection and commercial use. After 7 days, you'll need to purchase a license to continue using VNCme.
The trial version is for evaluation only. Commercial use requires a license. Personal licenses start at £20, and Small Business licenses (up to 50 computers) are £500.
Trial: 7-day evaluation, no password protection, evaluation use only.
Licensed: Lifetime access, password protection, commercial use allowed, priority support, hardware-locked to your purchased number of machines.
Since VNCme is a portable executable, there's no formal uninstall process. Just delete VNCme-Server.exe and any configuration files it created. You may also want to remove the trial registration from your system if you activated it.
Yes, by default viewers have full mouse and keyboard control. This is essential for remote support and collaboration. In the licensed version, you can enable password protection and configure access controls to restrict what viewers can do.
Yes! VNCme includes built-in tunnel support using ngrok. Run the server with the --tunnel flag to get a public URL that anyone can access from anywhere. No VPN or port forwarding needed.
